COOPERATION WITH THE PRIVATE SECTOR

The Private Sector Work Stream (PSWS) started its activities in 2016. It provides a platform for exchanges between network Members and with the Commission on the increasingly important role of the private sector in international cooperation, and helps foster a formal private sector in partner countries.

It serves as:

  • A platform for the European Commission to disseminate information and engage with EU Member State organisations on respective initiatives, such as the EU External Investment Plan (EIP), and to integrate blending and financial instruments into the programming and implementation of EU programmes.

  • An informal source of information, guidance and consultation regarding the implementation of such initiatives and knowledge of blended finance. 

  • A WG that aims to develop (possibly joint) new approaches to increasing the impact of private sector engagement for development.
