Cooperation with the Private Sector

The Private Sector Working Group, founded in 2016, serves as a platform to exchange among PN members but also with the Commission on the ever-increasingly important role of the private sector in development cooperation, as well as fostering a formal private sector in partner countries.

It serves as is

  1. a platform for the European Commission to disseminate information and engage with European member state organisations on respective initiatives, such as the EU External Investment Plan (EIP), and
  2. an informal source of information, guidance and consultation with regards to the implementation of such initiatives and knowledge on  blended finance. Ultimately,
  3. the Working Group aims for the development of (possibly joint) new approaches to increase impact of private sector engagement for development.
